Kerr Soverall Art warmly welcomes you to a relaxed and inspiring introduction to watercolour painting. This class is designed exclusively for beginners—whether you’ve never picked up a brush before or it has been years since you last painted. With gentle guidance, encouragement, and a focus on enjoyment, this four-week block will help you build confidence and discover the joy of creative expression.

This block also takes place alongside our continuing artists, allowing you to experience the natural rhythm of the class and see how sessions flow if you choose to continue after your beginners’ journey.

Each week, you’ll explore a new subject and technique, gradually developing your skills and understanding of the beautiful, flowing nature of watercolour.

Your Weekly Journey

Week 1: Flowers – Wednesday, 7th January

We begin with the essentials—how to hold your brush, mix water and pigment, and build confidence with each stroke. This session sets the tone for your creative journey.

Week 2: Landscapes – Wednesday, 14th January

Learn to paint soft skies, fluffy clouds, and textured landscapes using dry-brush techniques and the fan brush.

Week 3: Flamingo – Wednesday, 21st January

Explore colour blending and texture as you paint a graceful flamingo. This session introduces your first full guided tutorial, focusing on bringing birds to life on paper.

Week 4: Hare – Wednesday, 28th January

In our final week, we’ll bring together everything you’ve learned in a joyful hare painting session, celebrating your progress and creativity.

What’s Included

All materials are provided during class, including watercolour paper, brushes, paints, and a personal folder to store your artwork. Please remember to bring your folder each week.
