Beginner’s 4 Week Art Journey

Beginners Welcome | Starts Wednesday, 29th October 2025 | 6-7.45pm

Kerr Soverall Art warmly invites you to begin your creative journey with a relaxed and inspiring introduction to watercolour painting. This four-week block is designed especially for beginners—whether you’ve never picked up a brush before or it’s been years since you last painted. With gentle guidance, encouragement, and a focus on enjoyment, you’ll build confidence and discover the joy of creative expression.

Each week, you’ll explore a new subject and technique, gradually developing your skills and understanding of the beautiful, flowing nature of watercolour.

This class runs alongside our Continuing Artists, giving you the opportunity to observe the rhythm of the group and feel inspired by those further along in their journey—all within a welcoming and supportive environment.

Your Weekly Journey

Week 1: Flowers – Wednesday, 29th October
We begin with the essentials—how to hold your brush, mix water and pigment, and build confidence with each stroke. This session sets the tone for your creative journey.

Week 2: Landscapes – Wednesday, 5th November
Learn to paint soft skies, fluffy clouds, and textured landscapes using dry brush techniques and the fan brush.

Week 3: Flamingo – Wednesday, 12th November
Explore colour blending and texture as you paint a graceful flamingo. This session introduces your first full tutorial, focusing on bringing birds to life on paper.

Week 4: Hare – Wednesday, 19th November
In our final week, we’ll bring together everything you’ve learned in a joyful hare painting session, celebrating your progress and creativity.

What’s Included

All materials are provided during class, including watercolour paper, brushes, paints, and a personal folder to store your artwork. Please bring your folder with you each week.
