Wednesday Afternoon — Beginners Watercolour Class
1:00pm – 2:45pm

This class has been created especially for those at the very beginning of their watercolour journey.
A calm, supportive space…where you can take your first steps with confidence, and enjoy learning at a gentle, steady pace.

You’ll be guided step by step through each painting, with clear demonstrations and plenty of time to practice.
Nothing is rushed… and everything is explained simply.
Whether you’ve never picked up a brush before, or feel unsure where to begin… you are so welcome here.

Dates & Subjects

• Wednesday 15th April – Flowers
An introduction to watercolour basics, including brush control, water-to-paint ratio, and simple washes.

• Wednesday 22nd April – Landscapes
Learn to paint skies, clouds, and textured land using beginner-friendly techniques such as dry brush and the fan brush.

• Wednesday 29th April – Flamingo
A full guided tutorial focusing on colour blending, layering, and creating form.

1 week break due to Aberdeenshire holidays

• Wednesday 13th May – Hare
Bringing everything together in a final painting that builds confidence and celebrates progress.

What’s Included
All materials are provided during the class, including:
• Watercolour paper
• Paints
• Brushes

You don’t need to bring anything with you — simply arrive and paint.

Venue details will be emailed one week before the class begins.
Directions to the studio in Kirkton of Skene will be emailed one week before your class start date.
