Kerr Soverall Art warmly invites you to a relaxed and inspiring introduction to watercolour painting. This class is designed exclusively for beginners—whether you’ve never picked up a brush before or it has been years since you last painted. With gentle guidance, encouragement, and a focus on enjoyment, you’ll build confidence and discover the joy of creative expression.

This block also takes place alongside continuing artists, allowing you to experience the natural rhythm of the class if you decide to continue beyond these sessions.

Each week, you’ll explore a new subject and technique, gradually developing your skills and understanding the beautiful, flowing nature of watercolour.

Your Weekly Journey

Week 1: Flowers – Monday, 5th January

We begin with the essentials—how to hold your brush, mix water and pigment, and build confidence with each stroke. A gentle introduction to your creative journey.

Week 2: Landscapes – Monday, 12th January

Learn to paint soft skies, fluffy clouds, and textured landscapes using dry-brush techniques and the fan brush.

Week 3: Flamingo – Monday, 19th January

Explore colour blending and texture as you paint a graceful flamingo. This session introduces your first full guided tutorial, bringing a bird to life on paper.

Week 4: Hare – Monday, 26th January

In our final week, we’ll bring together everything you’ve learned in a joyful hare painting session, celebrating your progress and creativity.

What’s Included

All materials are provided, including watercolour paper, paints, brushes, and a personal folder to store your artwork. Please bring your folder each week.

This is a beginners-only class, offering a calm, supportive space to learn at your own pace.
