This Wednesday Morning beginners’ block takes place in the studio alongside continuing watercolour artists while they are painting.

Beginners are taught as a dedicated block within the session, with clear, step-by-step guidance through the fundamentals of watercolour. Painting alongside experienced artists allows you to observe the natural rhythm of the class, see techniques in practice, and gain a clear understanding of how the continuing classes work should you wish to continue after the beginners block.

Teaching, structure, and content are exactly the same as in other beginner classes. No previous experience is needed — everything is explained clearly and at a manageable pace.

Dates & Subjects

Wednesday Afternoons | 12:15 – 2:00 PM

This 4-week beginners’ block runs over consecutive Wednesdays. Teaching and content are exactly the same as classes that run alongside continuing artists, but this option allows a group to start together as complete beginners in a focused setting.

• Wednesday 25th – Flowers
Learning the basics of watercolour, including brush control, water-to-paint ratio, and simple washes.

• Wednesday 4th – Landscapes
Painting skies, clouds, and textured land using beginner-friendly techniques.

• Wednesday 11th – Flamingo
A guided tutorial focusing on colour mixing, layering, and building form.

• Wednesday 18th – Hare
Bringing together everything learned across the block in a final painting.

What to Bring

Nothing — all materials are provided during the class, including watercolour paper, paints, and brushes.
Simply arrive and paint.
